Here is my Online Teaching Introduction Video from when I first started teaching for DaDa (of course back then they were DaDaABC). The introduction, or greeting video is used as somewhat of a trailer for students and parents to select you as their teacher.
I tried to get into the mindset of a kids TV presenter…no matter how cringey it is…just have fun with it!
Tips for creating your introduction video:
1. Students prefer the teachers who have a Greeting Video so that they can get an idea of what the classes are like.
2. Size: Recording horizontally, 30–60 seconds, less than 150M, aspect ratio of 16:9.
3. Background: Keep the light bright and have a fun background
4. Content of video: Name, nationality, hobbies and teaching experience. For example, my hobbies I mentioned ukulele and writing my books.
5. You don't have to add in sound effects or other editing tricks like I've done.
You could simply record it on your phone or by using your webcam on your laptop.
And remember to just have fun with it and don't worry about looking like a goofball…you'll never outmatch how lame I look in that video (and I've posted it on the internet!)
