Do you run a digital marketing agency which delivers leads to local businesses?
Then I’m sure you’ve been there: setting up clients’ calendars, funnels, and zapier…it’s time-consuming.
And getting them to convert leads into customers? Don’t get me started.
But, now there’s a way to make it difficult for even your “headache” clients to fail.
The All-In-One Sales & Marketing Platform, GoHighLevel.
Today, I’m going to introduce you to this software which 1000s of marketers are already using to replace their clickfunnels, zapier, & calendly subscriptions (and much more!).
There’s nothing quite like this out there for agencies. There are all-in-one solutions such as GrooveFunnels, but this is more catered towards the online creator, rather than an agency owner.
Follow the link below if after reading this review, if you want to try GoHighLevel for yourself. GoHighLevel has a free 14-day trial, so you can see if the hype is real.
If not, you can leave without paying a penny..

What is GoHighLevel?
GoHighLevel was founded by Shaun Clark & Varun Vairavan in April 2018. It has grown to serve over 1800 marketing agencies with almost 50,000 client accounts!
GoHighLevel was designed to take the time and frustration out of getting clients to convert leads. It enables agencies to quickly and easily create automated follow up campaigns, landing pages, survey forms, scheduling, and cold outreach campaigns. Think of Clickfunnels, Active Campaign, Calendly, Woodpecker, & Google Sheets…in one software.
GoHighLevel provides new users a range of pre-made sales funnels, landing page templates, automated SMS & email follow up campaigns. Pre-made examples include Attorneys, Chiropractors, Dentists, & Pest Control. This makes it duplicating campaigns for new clients quick, easy, and, importantly, outsourceable to your VA.
The GoHighLevel support is also the best I’ve come across. They boast an impressive knowledge base (complete with videos), Facebook Group of almost 4,000 members, a quick-to-respond live chat, & even will jump on zoom calls if you need more in-depth assistance!
So now we have a clear understanding of what GoHighLevel is offering, let’s move on to my experience.
My experience using GoHighLevel
I learned the hard way.
It took my Agency, Applichat, one month to grow from 1 to 5 clients.
But the results were poor, and opportunities weren’t converting. Not for a lack of trying; not for a lack of willingness; not for a lack of energy.
The problem was I didn’t make it easy for them.
See, as marketers we often focus on the results of our campaigns: 10 appointments booked, 30 applications, 100 leads.
But clients want sales, and it’s our duty to educate their staff how to close, and automate the process as much as possible.
I wasn’t doing this. GoHighLevel made it easy for me.
I mainly love GoHighLevel for the follow reasons:
- Automated follow ups to leads increases conversions.
- Clients enjoy using a white-labeled CRM & find it easy to use.
- Many channels of support make it easy for me to solve back end problems.
My experience using the CRM has been overwhelmingly positive because my clients started converting more leads. This led them to renew whereas before they would not have….and improved my agency's bank balance, referrals, & reputation.
GoHighLevel Benefits
So what are the benefits of ad agencies using GoHighLevel instead of combining Clickfunnels, Calendly, ActiveCampaign etc?
- The GoHighLevel support rocks! I’d marry it if I could. Seriously. Live chat responds very quickly, the Facebook group has other marketers willing to help you, and the team will jump on zoom calls to assist tough cases. Managing multiple tickets across different softwares just seems pointless when GoHighLevel handles everything.
- You’ll Save Hours. It took 4 hours for me to set up clients before GoHighLevel. That’s done to one with the software (in the same niche). How? Snapshots. These are a combination of your funnels, email/SMS campaigns, and automations rolled into a template. You can then install this onto a new client account. It makes onboarding quicker, and saves you money as it’s easier to create SOPs for VAs to make edits within one CRM.
- Whitelabeling. Before GoHighLevel I’d have to introduce clients to multiple third-party softwares like Calendly & ActiveCampaign. It worked, but I always felt the flash of my shiny agency dullen when requesting they pay other companies to manage aspects of the campaign.
With GoHighLevel this isn’t the case. Instead, when clients sign in they will see your logo in the top left. I haven’t yet edited my URL, but it’s possible too.
- You’ll Save Money (If You Have A Few Clients).
It wouldn’t be a complete review without talking about the GoHighLevel pricing. $300 a month for the agency plan (the one you’ll want). Is it worth it? YES. I managed to save about $40 per client with GoHighLevel and $176 from my agency costs. Check out more calculations below!
GoHighLevel Pricing Reviewed
The GoHighLevel pricing is split into two bands. Agencies can also grab a 14 day trial to be sure it’s going to work out.
Single Location Account, $97 Per Month
This band is most applicable to agencies who want to automate their marketing and cut labour costs, without onboarding their clients onto GoHighLevel. I only see this useful for agency owners just starting out. Clients will be on-boarded onto it once you get hooked on the software.
Agency Unlimited Account, $297 Per Month
This is the band for marketing agencies. It allows you to open sub accounts for multiple clients, all included in the $297 per month.
Is it worth it? YES!…if you have more than one client. During my onboarding the GoHighLevel support member said most agencies cancel because they lack clients and cashflow.
It saved me money, and I only had 5 clients paying $700-1400..
Client Costs
Function | Software | Monthly Cost Spared | Cumulative Price Per Business Managed |
Facebook Messenger CRM | Manychat | $15 | $15 |
Email Marketing | Active Campaign | $15 | $30 |
Scheduling | Calendly | $10 | $40 |
So I saved $40 per client, & 200 overall. I would save $400 if I had 20 clients, $800 if I had 40 etc.
My Agency Costs
Function | Software | Monthly Cost Spared | Cumulative Savings |
Email Marketing | Active Campaign | $15 | $15 |
Landing Page Creation | Click Funnels | $97 | $112 |
Scheduling | Calendly | $10 | $122 |
Cold Email | Woodpecker | $20 (GoHighLevel emailing cost $30) | $144 |
Automation | Zapier (Pro Tier) | $30 | $174 (Cut back to Starter tier) |
International Calls | Skype | $2 for 400 minutes | $176 |
Cost Comparison
Accounts (Clients + Single Agency). | Monthly Costs with other softwares | Costs with GoHighLevel Pricing | Savings With GoHighLevel Pricing | Annual savings with GoHighLevel Pricing |
1 | $176 | $97 (single location plan) | $79 | $948 |
2 | $216 | $300 | PAY $84 EXTRA | PAY $1008 EXTRA |
3 | $298 | $300 | PAY $2 EXTRA | PAY $24 EXTRA |
5 | $376 | $300 | $76 | $912 |
7 | $456 | $300 | $156 | $1872 |
10 | $576 | $300 | $276 | $3312 |
15 | $776 | $300 | $476 | $5712 |
25 | $1176 | $300 | $876 | $10512 |
35 | $1440 | $300 | $1140 | $13680 |
50 | $2000 | $300 | $1700 | $20400 |
Verdict
Does the GoHighLevel pricing only work for large agencies? NO.
You’ll get a better ROI with GoHighLevel with just 2 clients to your name! But it’s 24 extra you say! No, the best savings with GoHighLevel are time.
I used to waste time setting up client’s chatbots, getting passwords, explaining the costs of zapier. It was often 4 hours set up per account. GoHighLevel allows you to take ‘snapshots’ and copy calendars, funnels, and email marketing campaigns to new clients. I saved about 3 hours for each new client set up using GoHighLevel. If your time is worth $60 per hour that’s $180 extra saved per client!
GoHighLevel Support Reviewed
I was blown away by the GoHighLevel support offering.
Onboarding all clients onto a new software is usually daunting: not with the level of GoHighLevel support available.
There are several levels & methods of accessing GoHighLevel support.
Video Onboarding
GoHighLevel starts you off with a live onboarding call via zoom. During this session you can ask the team member any questions as they walk you through the basics.
Submit A Ticket
You can send appeals to the GoHighLevel support inbox here. Expect a team member to reply via email in under 12 hours.
Facebook Group
The GoHighLevel community has over 4,000 members. Co-founder Sean Parker is particularly active there. I’m writing this on a Sunday and saw he replied to a question within 8 minutes! The marketers in this group are all extremely helpful. Out of 20 question posts I did not see 1 unanswered.
Live Chat
GoHighLevel support has a chat option too. All agents are live, and in my experience it usually takes 20-30 minutes to start a conversation. GoHighLevel could improve their support by automating a portion of this live chat. For example, ClickFunnels have a concierge automated bot which directs you to support docs before offloading to a live agent.
Knowledge Base
As of 25/03/2020 the GoHighLevel support documents number 170 articles! GoHighLevel start you off with a live onboarding call via zoom. During this session you can ask the team member any questions as they walk you through the basics. When future problems arise you can even suggest new features to the CRM.
Verdict
I haven’t come across better support offered by a software company. It would be great to see support offered in other languages down the line.
Downsides Of GoHighLevel
Nothing is perfect. I noticed a few downsides for GoHighLevel compared to competitors like Clickfunnels.
Bad Part #1: No Integromat integration.
Transferring my clients over from zapier wasn’t too hard.
Other agency owners have been raving to me about zapier competitor Integromat. Missing this integration put off jumping into GoHighLevel. They, and I, would love to see an integration between the two.
Bad Part #2: Lack of independent content on YouTube or Google
It would be good to see more Independent Resources and content by users. This would help learning go above functionality toward seeing what techniques and campaigns are working now from people using the software with clients. Only a handful of people are making YouTube videos about it, for instance. This too should improve over time, not least with their generous affiliate programme of 40% lifetime revenue.
Downside #3: Steep learning curve
The scope of what GoHighLevel can do is pretty huge, and I can definitely see it be intimidating to some. That’s why there are so many avenues of support during the onboarding process to make this easier. But they’ll only help if you use them all. The interface is intuitive enough you will learn over time. It just requires patience.
Verdict
The downsides don’t put me off using the software & I expect them to diminish as the user base grows. Also, GoHighLevel makes it clear during onboarding they listen to & implement feedback. You can submit recommendations, & make feature requests through support channels or the Facebook grow, where co-founder Sean Parker is very active.
Conclusion
I think it’s clear where I stand. GoHighLevel helped me retain clients, and win more business. I’ve jumped from $2k per month to $7.5k in 30 days whilst using the CRM.
It’s got everything I need to get my clients better results:
- Automated follow ups
- Time-saving/outsourceable tasks
- Cost-saving, especially at scale.
