Introduction to Quotation Marks and Dialogues

- Explain the basic rules for using quotation marks, including the placement of other punctuation marks in relation to quotation marks, and the distinction between single and double quotation marks.
Real Life Examples
- Provide examples from literature and scripts showing the proper formatting of dialogue with quotation marks.
- Discuss the use of quotation marks in academic writing for citing sources, and in everyday writing, such as quoting someone's words in an article or essay.
Interactive Activities
- Conduct a ‘Dialogue Writing' exercise, where students create conversations between characters, practicing the correct use of quotation marks and dialogue tags (e.g., he said, she replied).
- Organize a ‘Quotation Hunt' activity, where students find and share examples of quotation mark usage from books or online articles, reinforcing their understanding of correct application in different contexts.
