How to apply as a teacher for the new subjects?
For current teachers, update your subject settings on your ‘Personal Information'. An Amazing Talker teacher is allowed to teach up to three subjects at a time. To advertise your new subjects, edit your Profile descriptions to include them. Finally, you can start accepting student bookings for the new subjects!

One of the main draws of AmazingTalker is the ability to set your own price.
There are new online teachers charging students $10 an hour and proving very successful. 

More established online teachers are even charging up to $25 an hour.
However, if you’re not a native English speaker then you should be preferred to charge lower prices in order to compete with the serious competition. However, if you're teaching another language and not English, then you can charge more if you're language is low competition.

For a 50 minute class, many teachers can expect to charge somewhere around $15-$28, but this average falls to $6-$10 for those teachers only prepared to teach in 20 minute classes. 

As with all online teaching, the more you’re prepared to teach the more money you can expect to earn.

A good microphone
The value of a good microphone can not be overstated. While you can push away with the built-in microphone on your laptop if you really have to – but this is strongly discouraged.
Many online teaching companies will not consider a teacher who is not prepared to invest in the hardware necessary to provide their students with the best possible education. 
While Amazing Talker have a tendency to be as generous as you’d expect, it is also important to remember that their first responsibility is to the students and their education.

A good webcam

The built-in webcam on your laptop may suffice for those low-importance zoom calls, but if you intend to be an online teacher then you really need to step up your game.

A stable internet connection
A stable internet connection is the bedrock of a strong online teacher.

It can be quite surprising to find out just how much props are absolutely everywhere in the world of online teaching and it is not just limited for teaching kids.

While you may not want to use a puppet like you would teaching kids, you are definitely putting yourself at a disadvantage by not having some kind of visual object such as flashcards.
You should not only think of props as physical things you can hold, either. Videos and games can often prove to be an aid to learning, and a willingness to incorporate them into your lessons will put you in good standing with Amazing Talker.

Your teaching environment can be largely broken down into two essential parts: the practical and the atmospherical. 

The practical
There is a practical element to your teaching environment that cannot be overlooked. 
Specifically, this is that you are teaching in a quiet environment, and that it will stay quiet for the duration of your lesson.
It is unprofessional and inappropriate to teach a class in an environment not conducive to learning.

Make sure the things ‘on-camera’ are appropriate for all ages. 
Make sure you present yourself in a professional manner too. You don’t need to dress like you are attending a job interview (unless, of course, you’re undergoing the interview process) but you should look presentable. 

The atmospherical
The atmosphere you create for your students to learn in is just as important as the practical things you do and do not do. 
Your students need an environment that is calm and encouraging, one conducive to learning and perfectly designed with the students’ needs in mind.

Your students need to feel welcomed and comfortable, as well as generally happy. This can be achieved through use of various props and assets, some physical and even some digital. 

Getting students into their chairs is a trial all teachers undergo. 
The issue with teaching online is that you’re fighting with every distraction that your student has in their own home.

An online teacher is potentially competing with social media, YouTube, instant messaging and even the TV.
