Contra calls itself a commission-free professional network. That means when a client hires you through Contra, Contra does not take a percentage of what you earn the way Upwork does. The platform makes its money on the client side and from premium subscriptions, not from skimming freelancer earnings.

The positioning is built for the kind of work AI automation freelancers do: project-based, skill-driven, often productized. You build a public profile that shows your services, your past work, and your pricing.
