JET Mindset
Now after your interview, there is going to be quite a wait before you find out the result and then even more of a wait before you fly off.
So this is plenty of time for you to learn some Japanese! I have compiled together some great resources for learning Japanese that I personally used. You can find them in the Highly Recommended Resources at the end of this guide.
But first…
I want to take a minute to talk about mindset. It is important to get this right as you will now have plenty of time to assess the enormity of the situation.
Moving to Japan is a very big deal. So before you receive your offer, now is a good time to mentally prepare yourself for moving away.
It is also a good time to start working to save the money for your new adventure. A possible job to save money is to teach English online.
However, it is also important to prepare for the possibility that you may not get offered the job. Try to plan for this possibility just as much.
Think about one of the questions I outlined in the interview section – how would you cope with being alone in a rural foreign area after the celebrations of the welcome week are over?
Put yourself in that scenario and really ask yourself if you have the mindset for that kind of situation.
It seems like a crazy dream world awaits you when you are filling out that application, and if you follow this guide correctly, then that crazy dream world has a high chance of becoming a reality.
So have a good think about if the JET Program is for you.
And then once you have made your decision, continue to dream all you want about living in the crazy dream world of Japan…until one day, it may just be a reality.
Until that day, you can earn whilst you wait with teach from home jobs listed below:
