What is Figma AI?
Figma AI refers to a set of AI tools integrated into Figma and FigJam, which are products of Figma, a popular platform for digital design and prototyping. These AI tools leverage the capabilities of large language models, including OpenAI's technology, to enhance the functionality and efficiency of Figma and FigJam. The AI tools in Figma are currently in open beta and offer various features such as generating boards, diagrams, timelines, Gantt charts, and plans for team projects. They also assist in sorting and summarizing sticky notes and provide a widget named Jambot in FigJam that brings the power of ChatGPT‘s AI to boards.
Using Figma AI
Using Figma AI involves the following steps:
Work faster
Stop Typing and Start Speaking With Typeless
Typeless turns what you say into clean, formatted text in any app on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, which it rates at 4x faster than typing. It strips filler words, keeps only your final phrasing when you change your mind mid-sentence, and works in 100+ languages. Emails, AI prompts, client messages and docs, done by voice.
- Access: AI tools are available to anyone with ‘can edit' access in a FigJam file and are available on any team or plan.
- Generate Boards and Diagrams with FigJam AI: You can use text prompts to generate boards for meetings and team exercises, diagrams and flow charts, visual timelines, Gantt charts, and plans for team projects.
- Sort and Summarize Stickies with FigJam AI: FigJam AI helps sort a selection of stickies by theme and summarize them, which is particularly useful for collaborative exercises like brainstorms, design critiques, and retrospectives.
- Use Jambot in FigJam: Jambot is a widget that brings the power of ChatGPT’s AI to your boards. It can be used for brainstorming, summarizing sticky notes, creating visual mindmaps, reframing text for specific audiences, learning something new, or generating code from a description.
This integration of AI tools in Figma and FigJam significantly enhances the capabilities of these platforms, making them more efficient and versatile for design and collaboration.
