Introduction to this list of Morning Inspirational Quotes
Sometimes we all need some morning inspirational quotes. Each week begins essentially the same way: with the alarm going off at ‘way too early’ on a Monday morning.
The sheer, titanic force of will required to drag yourself into existence each and every week is the stuff of legend. Even Garfield the cat hates Mondays, and he’s unemployed.
In my experience, the best system of getting ready for the day is plain, simple routine. Do the same thing every morning and that just becomes what you do… but sometimes, when it’s raining or I just can’t be bothered, it’s like dragging yourself out of quicksand.
So if you’re one of those ‘morning people’ which, I have to be honest, I don’t think exist, then go ahead and get on with your day, you lucky so-and-so. The rest of us might need a little help remembering how to be a human being…
Monday motivation
To be successful, the first thing to do is fall in love with your work
Sister Mary Lauretta
Sister Mary says that the best way of getting yourself out of bed and having a successful day is to love what you do. Which is sound advice, really. We’d all like to love our jobs, but reality just isn’t always quite like that… Which leads nicely into our next quote:
Each day can count if we learn to live it “on purpose” rather than passively drifting through the day, allowing the wind of circumstances and distractions to make our choices for us
Joyce Meyer
It’s not all about wishes and kisses and puppy dog kisses – sometimes you need to do some hard work. It’s all well and good finding something you love, and if you’ve done that then good on you; but nine times out of ten you’ve got to actually do things to get things. Bring this attitude into your Monday mornings and you’ll see better results.
There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either IN or your OUT. There is no such thing as life in-between
Pat Riley
Pat seems to agree with Joyce, and says that dedication is what you need. It’s no good wishing you could do this or achieve that, but not actually putting anything into it.
Don’t half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing
Ron Swanson
The inimitable Ron Swanson has already given us everything we need for work – this attitude will get you places. It’s difficult, especially in this day and age where we’ve got more distractions at our fingertips than we’ve ever had before… but if you can devote yourself solely to one task, then you’re going to see better outcomes.
At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for — the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?”
Marcus Aurelius
A personal favourite of mine, and I’d dare say no list on morning quotes is complete without it. Marcus died nearly 2000 years ago, but it goes to show that human nature hasn’t changed all that much. Living in a time which focussed on duty, and working because you should, not because you feel like it, the Last of the Good Emperors tells us that we weren’t made to be lazy. Get out of bed and do something.
Good morning motivation
“Coffee is a way of stealing time which should by rights belong to your older self.”
Terry Pratchett
It’s kind of like time-travelling your productivity. The downside is, you’re stealing it from future You… you’ll feel the deficit later, but let the afternoon look after itself; we’re all about the morning, here.
“Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life.”
Mark Twain
Begin each morning thinking ‘hey, this could be the best day I’ve ever had’ and maybe, just maybe, it’ll be true…
“The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep.”
Rumi
It’s a lot more poetic than other quotes we’ve seen on this list, but it raises an important point: Don’t go back to sleep. Once your day has started, let it continue.
“I used to love night best but the older I get the more treasures and hope and joy I find in mornings.”
Terri Guillemets
This is a really nice sentiment. We’re all guilty of staying up later than we should have, but as we get older we might find the mornings are that much better.
“Nothing is more beautiful than the loveliness of the woods before sunrise.” – George Washington Carver
George Washington
If you go out for a walk early in the morning, you’ll probably find you’re setting yourself up for a productive day.
Morning inspirational quotes
“What is love? It is the morning and the evening star.”
Sinclair Lewis
A little more poetry now, as we take a look at something that’s not strictly black and white. At least for Sinclair Lewis, morning is a part of the definition of Love.
“Greet every morning with open arms and say thanks every night with a full heart. Each day is a precious gift to be savored and used, not left unopened and hoarded for a future that may never come.”
Regina Brett
Be grateful each time you wake up, Regina says. Bit morbid, really… But it does reinforce the notion that each fresh morning is an opportunity to do something great.
“I do not know who lives here in my chest, or why the smile comes. I am not myself, more the bare green knob of a rose that lost every leaf and petal to the morning wind.”
Rumi
More poetry, as just holding a head full of quotations isn’t necessarily a moving way to start the day.
“Morning without you is a dwindled dawn.”
Emily Dickinson
This raises the idea that a morning spent alone isn’t necessarily something worth experiencing. I think it’s fair to say Emily is talking about love more than mornings in this quotation, but it proves to be popular all the same.
“For each new morning let there be flow of love. Let there be light of happiness in every direction.”
Amit Ray
Another connection made between love and mornings. This is proving to be a popular theme amongst morning-related quotations. Something worth thinking about, perhaps?
Monday motivation quotes for work
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs here says that you really do need to love what you do for a living. This will make getting out of bed on a monday morning that much more bearable.
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored
Earl Nightingale
Earl feels like you should be grateful to be alive, a sentiment we’ve seen expressed elsewhere in this list. Maybe if you can internalise and understand how precious your time is, you’ll be more selective in how you spend it?
Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along
George Herbert
Just get on with it, George says. We’re all guilty of saying it's ‘not the right moment’, but when push comes to shove the only people who truly get anywhere are those who do things.
Success isn't always about greatness. It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come
Dwayne Johnson
The Rock tells us that you’re not just born successful, you have to work for it. He’d know. So maybe when you’re struggling to get out of bed in the morning, keep in mind that even The Rock has to make himself work hard.
The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand
Vince Lombardi
Vince reinforces the sentiments expressed by The Rock, and makes it very clear that you have to work hard in order to succeed. So get moving.
Good morning inspirational quotes
“Be pleasant until ten o’clock in the morning, and the rest of the day will take care of itself.”
Elbert Hubbard
Start the day right and in theory, the rest of it should look after itself.
“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”
Meister Eckhart
Each day is a new struggle, and there’s no way to deal with it other than to face it head-on.
“Morning is an important time of day because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.”
Lemony Snicket
Lemony Snicket agrees with what’s been expressed already in this list – you set your day up depending on how you act in the morning.
“She woke up every morning with the option of being anyone she wished. How beautiful it was that she always chose herself.”
Tyler Kent White
This is a really nice idea about choosing to be the person that you are – start each morning by reminding yourself that you’re lucky to be you.
“When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I am alive.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Again, we’re lucky to be here. The mornings present us with the perfect opportunity to reflect on just how lucky we really are.
Monday motivation quotes
“Every morning I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America. If I’m not there, I go to work.”
Robert Orben
This is a really interesting way of measuring success and motivating yourself to working harder day-to-day.
“I wake up every morning and I surprise myself. I wake up to a new me.”
Gina Carano
Similar to what we’ve said already about choosing to be yourself, Gina wakes up to find each day to be a blank page.
“Dawn is a friend of the muses.”
Latin Proverb
Some of your best ideas come to you in the early hours of the morning. Don’t waste this time by sleeping through it.
“Every day I am inspired by what’s possible.”
Maynard Webb
Whatever you can find to get you out of bed has probably earned its place in your life, so if anticipation of new possibilities is what does it for you, then more power to you.
“Let today be the day you give up who you’ve been for who you can become.”
Hal Elrod
Similar to what we’ve said about the blank page, Hal promotes becoming the ‘new you’ at the start of the day, setting you up nicely for the rest of it.
“The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light.”
S. Ajna
Another bit of poetry here, but it carries a pleasant image.
Funny monday motivation
Mondays are mundane, like Tuesdays minus 24 hours
Jarod Kintz
Each day is the same. You get the same amount of time, it’s just how you use it.
Hey I know it's Monday but it's also a new day, a new week, and in that lies a new opportunity for something special to happen
Michael El
Stay motivated, get out of bed, and get to work. That’s the only way you’ll see results.
Monday is an awful way to spend 1/7 of your life
Steven Wright
You don’t have to like it, but you do have to live it.
Imagine having Mondays as a holiday and then it would be the best thing. Will someone please assist me in making it an official holiday and solve all our Monday blues
Rolland Mars
Seems to me that we’d just hate Tuesdays instead – but if we apply some of the attitudes we’ve discussed above, maybe we don’t have to hate any day…?
Employers are at their happiest on Mondays. Employees are at their happiest on Fridays – Mokokoma Mokhonoana
The week passes regardless – you just get to choose how you spend it.
And one things is for sure, you will have a lot more flexibility of choice when you work at online teaching jobs:
