Workada looks like a real, registered company, but it is very new, so judge it on the evidence. It is a Delaware LLC based in San Francisco, it pays contributors through Stripe, it verifies identity through Persona, and people on Reddit describe real interviews and real work. Its website terms only date from May 2026.
The facts below come from Workada's own pages, its business registration and its domain records, all checked on 2026-10-12, plus a Reddit pass the same day. DigiNo has no link with Workada and earns nothing from it.
Is Workada Legit?
Here is what can be checked from outside the company:
- Workada, LLC is on the Delaware business register as a domestic limited liability company, with The Corporation Trust Company as its registered agent.
- Its privacy policy gives a San Francisco office address and a privacy email at workada.co.
- Its terms of use and privacy policy are both dated 2026-05-21.
- The workada.com domain was registered in May 2025, and workada.co in May 2026.
Workada's own trust page says it operates both domains and that official email always comes from @workada.co. It says it never asks for a fee, and never asks for bank details or ID outside the Stripe and Persona steps.
What is missing is a track record. The company reports its own numbers for the last 30 days: more than 1,500 active contributors and more than 2,000 onboarded. Those are small and self-reported, and there are no independent reviews yet with years of history behind them.

What Workada Contributors Do
Workada says contributors review, compare or annotate data so AI systems learn from human judgment. Its pages name these task types:
- Labeling images
- Annotating video
- Reviewing financial documents
- Captioning medical images
Some projects ask you to compare two AI outputs and explain your choice. Others need a specific professional or educational background.
On 2026-10-12 its opportunities page listed 7 open roles, from general data labeling to film and video logging, science reasoning and financial analysis. Each project has its own timeline, so the work on offer shifts as projects start and end.

Who Can Join
- Contributors based in the United States or Canada. Some projects narrow that further.
- No prior AI training or annotation experience is needed for general roles. Specialist roles ask for a background in the field.
- A Windows 10 or newer computer, or a Mac, running Chrome. Chromebooks are not supported.
- A mobile number that takes SMS for verification. Landlines, VoIP and Google Voice numbers are not accepted.

How You Get In
- Apply to a role and upload your resume. There is no fee.
- Workada reviews the resume and, if you fit, books a short interview with a member of its team.
- Join an onboarding session, get placed in a small team with a lead, verify your identity through Persona and connect Stripe.
- Complete paid, role-specific training and a short set of training tasks.
- Claim tasks from a queue. Hours are tracked automatically.
Workada says most contributors go from applying to their first task in a matter of days. Submitted tasks go to a quality team that checks them against the project guidelines.

How Workada Pays
Pay is hourly. Each role states its rate on its own listing page, so you see it before you apply.
Payouts go out three times a week through Stripe, straight to your bank account. Workada says the first payment can take a few extra business days while Stripe sets up your account.
You work as an independent contractor. The terms say Workada does not withhold taxes except where the law requires it, so taxes are on you.

What Contributors Say on Reddit
Workada comes up often in r/AiTraining_Annotation, especially in recent weeks. Contributors there say:
- The interview is a relaxed video call with a real person, which several found a welcome change from AI interviews.
- It suits beginners, and training is paid.
- Offboarding can be sudden. One contributor of a few months says they were removed after asking for help on a hard project, despite good scores.
- Some applicants were turned down quickly with no reason given.
- Only US and Canada residents can work. Others warn that getting around the location rule gets accounts banned, and offers to run an account for someone else show up in the comments.
